Black History Month

Maudie Dashiell Williams

Williams has been with Creative Child Care, Inc. for 27 years, and throughout her time here, she has never failed to show exemplary performance! She was the first and only in her family to pursue her education and receive her bachelor’s in liberal studies from Cal State Dominguez Hills. From there she would move from Los Angeles to accept the Site Supervisor position in 1997 here at CCCI and was promoted to Program Director four years later. She was referred to as “The Black Supervisor” at the time, “I didn’t have a name, to them I was just ‘The Black Supervisor’” – Williams. She became CCCI’s first African American director and program director and would go on to be recognized by the African American Chamber of Commerce of San Joaquin County for accepting her Employee of the Year Award in 2002. To this day, she lives by her mother’s words, “No matter what happens in your life, the only person who can beat you is you, and the day you quit, you will be beaten.”
